Pride in Your Community

It was Red Green who said, "Remember, I'm pulling for you. We're all in this together."  I know a comedy show host isn't the best source of information or encouragement, but these days nothing rings truer than his words.(The Red Green show is about a Canadian resort owner/handyman who uses duct tape to fix or invent things. The comical scenes are based on Red, his nephew and the town's people.)

Change is a fact of life but it seems like the rapid changes of late have not been for the best for our country. It doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, we need to pull together to save our nation.

We hear so much stuff on the news and social media and most of us don't know what to believe. The only thing I see is the dust has settled since Covid and it's time to stand together to protect ourselves and our homeland. I think a good way to start is to unite with your community. Volunteer or just figure out how to get to know your neighbors. Invite someone to meet for coffee, attend an event in your town or bring a meal to someone who is experiencing a hardship.

I've joined an exercise program that is offered for free in my community. (A shout out to an outstanding citizen in our town who agreed to lead us.) I absolutely love it and not only have I shaped up, I've met some great people in my neighborhood. It's a fun time and everyone has gotten to know each other and have formed what I think is a wonderful bond. We look out for each other and now all of us are in touch with what's going on in our area. I love living in my small community and I know many of you feel the same way.

The fact is that we're all in this together no matter what your political stance.

Who knows maybe some time spent with someone who doesn't share your views may enlighten you both?

Here's to a brighter future!

P.S. The picture I've included shows the small amount of snow we have here in February in northern Minnesota! Yeah!
