Two Christmas Wishes

I’ve never been a person who gets caught up in all the hoopla and commercialism that surrounds Christmas. I try to focus on its true meaning โ€” the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. But each year I imagine what it would be like to feel my heart swell in my chest (not from a heart attack) from the unlimited joy the season brings. Somewhat like the Grinch after he figures out the true meaning of Christmas.

So this year I want to zero in on what I think would help me capture the โ€˜magicโ€™ with two wishes. My first wish this holiday season is for my sister, Debbie, to beat her cancer and live a long and healthy life. My second wish is for everyone, especially those who are dealing with cancer of a loved one or themselves to feel real joy and comfort this Christmas.

More than anything I need to realize that the magic of the season has always been there โ€” I just have to believe.

Merry Christmas! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„
